I used to have a cheap copy (Jim Harley??) but I can't remember what it was like.

Carp! Now I want one too. That is a lot of hand work and was he really eyeballing those frets???

Vince, I love this video! How often can you see how a fine stringed instrument is made is such a concise and well made video? Made me want one, and I don't play bass.......

I'd love to own a Hofner. It's amazing how much of that work is done by just "eyeballing" it.

The other thing to remember is that when McCartney bought his first Hofner it was a budget instrument. Not so much these days.
