Follow The Sun

Post by Craig » Wed Oct 08, 2014 8:47 am

Painfully slow? Maybe. I recorded the parts and then, after listening, wished I had done it a bit faster. Oh well. it is what it is. On to the next one!

Another nice one Craig! If you don't like the tempo I believe you can dump your final track back into Reaper and increase the tempo without changing pitch. I love technology. :horns:

Thanks! As with a lot of these, they aren't really "finished". I'd want to add a chorus and maybe a bridge to it; pick up the pace....Lots of things. But, I look at it like experimenting with different styles and just enjoying recording. No rules. Eventually, I'd like to take the things I like and the things I've learned (like input from you guys) and do some serious writing.

There is a dreamy, far away feel to your vocals that I like, Craig. Could be some reverb?? What ever you did, it sure suits the song well.

I also like that wacky guitar effect you used for the leads. Brings me back to late '60's.....also a good feel for this tune, IMO.

Cool song.

What's next? Do you take requests??

Thanks, Don! Not sure what I'm doing next. Did you have anything in mind?

I bet you'd kill on the layered vocal harmonies. And, much of the song is founded on Paul's bass....... I know you've got that covered!

I like where you are going with this one and LOVE the trippy effect on the guitar solos. :thumb: Honestly, I thought the tempo felt about right - although I would be curious to hear how it works sped up AND perhaps even slowed down a little more! To me, the vibe of the song and the guitar have a very relaxed feel. If you were to slow it down it might require something a little different on the drums to be more effective, something perhaps that does not emphasize the beat as much. Just thinking out loud, here as always! lol :D

You have some killer song ideas in the works, Craig! :thumb:
