Couldn't find a YouTube, but Sonny Boy Williamson (II) did this really neat parody of Howlin' Wolf. :D

It's an interesting curio. You can either listen to a snippet or the whole thing on last FM.

Thanks for the nod, Doctor Rock...
...but wait, there's more

For those who may've missed it on the "Forgotten blues giant" thread, here's vid that shows one of Wolf's classic entrances.

why they call him the Wolf

& here's an absolutely historic vid: Brian Jones & Mick Jagger introduce Wolf on TV
Legend has it they insisted he be included on the show...& don't miss Billy Preston there at the piano !

Those were cool :thumb:
All of these clips were great. ;)

Did anyone see Cadillac Records?

Eamonn Walker did a pretty cool Howlin" Wolf in that movie with "Smokestack"

Hubert Sumlin actually re-recorded some of his own tracks for the movie.

That's cool, man !
,,,but parody or tribute ?
IIRC, Wolf was definitely inluenced by "Rice".
Here's another greatly Wolf influenced vocalist/harp player.

Howlin' Wolf is so damned awesomely influential! He and Muddy are Chicago blues, baby!

I love Hubert Sumlin. What a cool style he has.

I love how Wolf learned to play guitar and then he got real good over night.

I figured out how to record, using the 'voice message' function on my iPhone, and then convert that audio file to an MP3...........Here's my version of Hubert Sumlin's lick for "Smoke Stack Lightening". I'm playing my re-issue Burst Brothers Les Paul thru an old Marshall JMP into an old Marshall 4x12 loaded with Creambacks. The recording is my iPhone laying on the arm of a couch!!;
