Uploading a video from iMac to Youtube

Post by mdrs » Sat May 02, 2015 9:11 pm

I've got a bunch of videos from a recent show I attended. I captured the video on a small "point and shoot" camera, and downloaded the vids from the SD card to my iMac. So, the videos are located in iPhoto. Unfortunately, I'm having a very hard time uploading the vids from iPhoto to my Youtube channel.

I googled this, and what I've found didn't work.

Anyone know how I can get this done?

As an aside, should I load the SD card vids to my wife's PC laptop, and try to upload from there? I've used PC's a lot in the past, and seem to recall that this would be easier done with a PC based computer.

HELP!! :?

Usually, you go to your Youtube account, click on upload and then point it to the location of the file. Mac or PC, should be the same procedure.

They might need to be formatted to a standard compression format. If the camera videos went into iPhoto then you'll need to do a convertion. Using finder, find the video and right click. Choose open with>QuickTime. After it opens, save as a file supported by YouTube. Usually MOV. Hope that helps.

I'm guessing that, since you were willing to use your wife's computer, this, uh, show of which you speak did not involve women disrobing to campy music?

You're right, MP. I'm getting old and cranky. Campy music bothers me, and I think I remember what disrobed women look like........ I'm pretty sure, anyway.
