The inevitable HD crash!

Post by Hard Tail » Thu Dec 20, 2012 12:00 pm

After 20+ years of owning a computer of some kind, I finally experienced a hard drive crash this morning.

Yes... my stuff is backed up. Still a pain in the rear though.

That is a total bummer HT! I hate that when it happens, I had that happen once too!
I wonder now, what was his fate? Is he on the run? Or did his lights go out tonight? Will he see the sun? Star Trek "It may be the warriors who get the glory, but it's the engineers who build societies."

Did you get any warnings? Sometimes it's the Motherboard or cable. Worth checking. It can also be the control board, but then you need to swap it our for an identical make and model...

Craig... did a hardware diagnostic and it's definitely the HD. I'll get a new one.
