I am trying to install Lame on my old XP machine and having no luck. None of the downloads seem to want to install. Any help?

I downloaded Reaper last night (see in Recording section) and it prompted me to download Lame. No idea why. No idea what to do with it. Reaper opened fine with a demo, then the User Manual overwhelmed me and it was nearly dawn, so I gave up on it for the time being. I had no trouble downloading it, although I know that's not much help.

Lame is a dll that allows you to save your music as an MP3 file. Pop it into the same folder as reaper (unzip if it's zipped) then, when you try to save a file as MP3 it should ask where lame is installed. Point it to where you dropped it.

Also, if you happen to get an EXE version, linked though reaper, just run it and it should put it in the right spot for you.
