It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform everyone that Lee has lost his battle with cancer, today at noon.

Lee was a great guy and a great partner and a great friend. He will be missed.

He was a good guy.... I'm lucky to have had the opportunity to phone chat and mail him on numerous occasions... I feel I'm a wiser person because of that... I thank him....... My heart goes out to his family....

I'm really sorry to hear this. I offer my deepest sympathy for his family and all his friends here as well. I loved getting the cartoon funnies he'd send me and the Flight Aware links. Lee and I were on the same page politically and shared many a laff in that regard..... Beyond that we shared common interests in firearms and motorcycles.......and of course like all of us, all things guitar/music.

Really sad......he was way too young.

I got the word about Lee via a text message as I was driving my parents to meet up with my entire family to celebrate Dad's 90th birthday.

I don't think that I can put into words what I am feeling right now. Lee was one of the good guys. I will always be thankful for the many things he generously taught me. And I pray for peace for his wonderful wife, and for his sons.

When we talked, we'd end the conversation or e mail with "I'm gonna plug into my Marshall. Open up your window, and take a listen." (I live in Pennsylvania and Lee was from Detroit)

Somehow, I swear I just heard the mighty roar of that Marshall, loud and proud.

"There once was a note, Pure and Easy. Playing so free, like a breath rippling by."

I'm shattered. I haven't the words to express my sadness.

RIP Lee.

My thoughts are with his family.

I'm very sad to learn of Lee's passing .
Doc Ellwood was so generous with advice you could take to the bank on all things guitar.
He had such a wealth of knowledge and grasp of music and gear from both an artistic and technical standpoint and could explain himself so clearly.
My heart goes out to his family and all that knew him.

Goodnight, Lee. Bright light where you're facin' now; colorful times in your wake. Good sunny days to your family and friends.
